Greetings from the Dolby Millicast team! We’re excited to unveil several new streaming features, highlight upcoming events including a Product Release Webinar, and share our most popular blog posts. Join us as we dive into the latest advancements in real-time streaming.
So, What’s New?
Live Monitoring
New live monitoring features provide details on the stream health of all active live streams, including a detailed overview of ingest statistics, connected viewers, stream duration and status. Real-time monitoring allows you to quickly diagnose and fix streaming issues, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted viewing experience for your audience.
Cloud Transcoding
To optimize playback performance, you can use the Cloud Transcoder in the Dashboard or through the API to transcode, transrate, and transsize output to ensure compatibility and performance across devices and network conditions. Contact Sales to enable this feature.
Live Clipping
The new live clipping feature allows you to capture key moments from your live stream and share them as standalone clips, either in real-time or from a recorded stream. This will allow you to instantly share highlights or exciting clips with your audience and keep viewers engaged, and enable you to turn a single live stream into multiple pieces of content, making it easier to reach a broader audience.
Re-streaming
Re-streaming allows you to send your stream to Millicast for real-time delivery, and simultaneously broadcast the stream to multiple external live streaming platforms (i.e. YouTube Live, Facebook Live) to reach a larger audience.
Digital Rights Management (DRM)
You can now easily add DRM to your real-time streaming workflow and meet strict content owner security requirements, ensuring that your intellectual property remains safe. DRM adds an extra layer of security, safeguarding your monetization models and enforcing your rights in the digital landscape.
WHIP & WHEP Updates
OBS Studio added native WebRTC Streaming with WHIP that enables real-time streaming with ultra low latency and wide device compatibility.
DJI also added WHIP support for their Dock 2 product in their April 7th 2024 release. Now users can stream using WebRTC to enable remote control through the cloud using WebRTC in a web browser.
(SSO) Single sign on
Customers can now log in to the Dolby io dashboard using the SSO button after purchase. This feature enhances convenience and security by allowing access to multiple applications with one set of credentials.
